Sinful Colors - Holiday Shimmer Collection 2012 (Swatches)

Happy Holidays!

This post is devoted to the Sinful Colors - Holiday Shimmer Collection 2012. Though this time, it's swatches (and bottle shots again).  I wanted to do a quick mini review for each polish as well. Each swatch is 2 coats. (Swatch photo at the end).

First I'd like to start with Super Star. This polish looks great in the bottle, but on the nail, it's a real pain. It actually earned a title from me, the worst nail polish I've ever used! And I've tried A LOT of polishes. This one is just so thick and goopy, it's very hard to neatly paint on, and it ends up being a sloppy mess. Not to mention how long it takes to dry as well. This was a huge flop for me.

Next is Dazzle. Also a beautiful raspberry red, that I later then realized puts of a gold shimmer. This one was a little thick too...but not nearly as bad as Super Star.

Faceted was also fairly easy to apply, but once in a while i found myself struggling to place the little bar glitters evenly, or else they would be really concentrated in one area and not another. In the swatch it looks like its just glitter, but it is in fact a bar glitter.

Ice Dream was a dream to apply! It was also very opaque in 2 coats... no complaints here!

Winter Wonder was also a great application, and looked good with 2 coats.

Nova is a great peacock color. It's basically a really dark blue with greenish blue shimmer. It applied great in 2 coats as well.

Swatches

Overall this collection was a hit... but some of the formulas were just so thick - literally like honey. It made me rethink Sinful Colors! I could never boycott them though, I love them so much, actually my favorite brand of drugstore nail polish! It's also totally understandable to have 1 flop nail polish here and there. I've never had that happen to me with any of their other polishes. My top favorites would be Faceted and Ice Dream .

China Glaze - Ruby Pumps

Good afternoon!

Today I'm reviewing China Glaze's Ruby Pumps. It's a very beautiful sparkly, deep red. The formula was good, but it was rather sheer so I had to apply 3 coats to get the opaqueness I was looking for. It's a great holiday color and perfect for fall. The glitters in are are very fine so its not chunky at all. Also i apologize for the first picture having a yellow tint, and please excuse the minor tip wear!!

Update + Sinful Colors Holiday Shimmer Collection 2012

Hey everyone.

I apologize for not posting as much as to I'd like recently. Not to bring up excuses but my pop-pop just passed away, and I'm still suffering with a bad concussion. Please forgive me because I'm bringing in all the holiday polishes! I'm going to start posting a lot more regularly, and I hope it makes up! So first up is the Sinful Colors Holiday Shimmer Collection. I was on a mad hunt for these. Since the Rite Aid near me didn't carry them, I ventured to a farther rite aid, and low and behold, they had them! I was ecstatic! and I'd like to share them now because there isn't much online about them. These are just bottle shots for now... but I'll definitely have posts featuring them! 2 of the colors are in the permanent line, Queen of Beauty and Frenzy. The rest, which I got, are brand new! There's a surprise polish at the end!

Paper Nails

Hey!

I know I'm rather late with this back to school design, but it's still cute and wearable any time! It's really easy, and a good beginner design. As the base I used Wet n' Wild's French White Creme, you can see a review  here. I then used my Art Deco Stripers in Baby Pink and Sky Blue. To top it off, i used Seche Vite as a topcoat.

Rainbow Makeup!

Happy Saturday!

I have my first makeup post, so I though I'd kick it off with something really cool! These were surprisingly easy, and I used about 3 brushes to complete it. I think this would be awesome for Halloween! Definitely not something to wear to school... I will list all the products I used after the page break and more pictures!

Sally Hansen - Pacific Blue

Happy Monday!

Today I have what is believed to be (according to me) the most sought after nail polish in the drugstore of all time. I'm pretty sure that this corn flower blue is a polish that everyone tries to get their paws on. Yes, it's Sally Hansen's Pacific Blue. This color is so pretty and very eye catching. In the bottle it looks a little dustier. My pictures also don't show the vibrancy of the color, so just imagine them as a brighter dark blue. I used 2 coats!

More pictures and a review of 2 polishes are here!

Dip Dye/ Tie Dye Nails - Wet n' Wild - French White

Good evening!

I'm finally back with a really cool, boho design that I think I actually created! I couldn't decide what to name them so I just put the slash in the title! If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them! And if you would like to know any of the names of polishes, just contact me or leave a comment. I also thought I'd do a mini review of the base color I used, Wet n' Wild's French White. This was just one coat. Also, sorry if the photos look over edited, but it was hard to get a picture of what the really look like.

Essence - Walk On Air

Hello everyone!!! And welcome September! :)

I'm sharing my first Essence nail polish, in Walk On Air. I got it for 79 cents at Ulta! What a steal. It's a dark, creme blue, but not really navy. It's actually darker in real life compared to the photos. I used 2 coats.

Read a review with photos too!

China Glaze - Surfin' For Boys

Hey!

Today ends my haul of China Glaze nail polish. This is the last one I have to share, and it's also from the 2012 Summer Neons collection, like a few of the other ones. Here is Surfin' For Boys. It's a darker orange, but still  bright, with some nice shimmer. This is also a nice polish for the transition into fall, since it's a bit toned down. I applied 2 coats for the images below.

China Glaze - Bahamian Escape

Hello everyone!

This is my second to last nail polish from my China Glaze Haul. I really love this color, preferably for spring though! It's still so pretty to wear any time. Please excuse the zebra design being a bit streaky and blurred... I put a top coat on too soon :(. Anyways, I still think it looks amazing! It helps if you squint your eyes then you don't see the smudge lol. I used two coats for the photos below.

China Glaze - Mom's Chiffon

Hey guys!

This is my third to last China Glaze polish that I have been wanting to show everyone! I also got some of the holiday ones, but I want to save them for later on. The one i have here, Mom's Chiffon is a really pretty color. I like it a lot more than I thought I did at first. Its a darker pink, but not mauve or red. There's no shimmer and it dries to a nice creamy finish. I think this is the perfect transition color from summer into fall, maybe even spring into summer! It's not bright, or pastel, it's just perfect. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Update + Essie Collection

Hey Everybody!

I'm so sorry for not posting anything lately! I haven't been feeling well due to a past concussion. And this week starts my vacation. Not to mention how busy I've been! Literally I haven't been home all week. I hope you all understand, I promise I'll be back next week, with a bunch of China Glaze polishes I said I'd swatch. Hope everyone is doing well!

I also wanted to mention yet another collection from Essie that is ready available at the website, here. It's called the Yogaga Collection, obviously based around yoga! They all look like they'd be great transition colors from summer to fall, maybe even spring, and the names are so cute! It definitely has some nice colors, as opposed to boring taupes!

Olympic Nail Art

T.G.I.F! Any plans for the weekend? Wherever you go, you should kick it off with these awesome nails!

So today I have my first nail art… and I’m so excited to show it off! Though in the past I have done many designs, this is the first one I’ve posted since I’ve had my blog.  So here we are… Olympic Nails! I created this myself, and I’m so happy and pleased with the turnout. Though it did take a hefty amount of time and patience, the end result is amazing! Of course if you wanted to replace the flag to represent your country you could… or swap out the medals too! If you would like to know the name and brand of any specific polishes, please leave me a comment or an email!

Upcoming Fall 2012 Collections

Welcome August! July flew by too fast, and summer is almost over. Fall is my favorite season though so I'm not too bummed haha.

I just wanted to mention a few upcoming fall collections, either coming out or newly releases. China Glaze has one coming out sometime this month. It’s called the Bohemian Collection. It includes six luster chrome shades, a must for fall. This collection is already available here, on head2toebeauty.com. Next we have Essie with the Fall 2012 Stylenomics Collection. I am pretty sure it also hasn't been released yet because it's not on their website. It includes six shades as well, all neutral toned with two pops of color, red and purple. You can purchase these here. And lastly we have O.P.I. They are bringing out the Fall 2012 Germany Collection. I haven't seen these available online yet, but they are available in stores August 8th. This collection has 12 polishes, and from pictures, I'm honestly not impressed with any of the shades. They all seem boring, and the ones that aren't I probably have a dupe of. Kind of a disappointment, but I guess I can't really judge because I haven't seen them in real life. I hope other brands will introduce better collections than these, although, the China Glaze one does seem cool. Don't get me wrong, I understand fall is all about the neutral, deep tones, but at least through some glitter or shimmer in there! So those are the collections I have heard about so far, and I'll be keeping an ear out for more!

China Glaze - Pool Party

Hey everybody!

I have tons of new nail polishes that I’m so excited to show everyone! They are all mostly China Glaze, and a couple of Color Club. For the next couple of weeks or so, I’m going to be blogging about just those brands. I’m not being sponsored. So the first beauty I have here today is China Glaze’s Pool Party. It looks NOTHING like how it appears in the pictures; there is no orange in it what so ever. It is a hot pink, but not pastel like Flip Flop Fantasy if you know what I mean. It’s like a dark hot pink? If that’s possible… Like most neons, it’s matte, so I have pictures before and after a topcoat. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Maybelline - Styled Out

Good morning! Are we all watching the Olympics!?

Today I have yet another lacquer from Maybelline’s new line of nail polishes. This one is in Styled Out, part of the “Denim” line. It’s a beautiful dark but hazy kind of blue with silver sparkles. I have to say, it does almost look like jeans on your nails!

Maybelline - Bold Gold

Maybelline has also recently release a new line called Maybelline Color Show. It includes nail polishes within a huge color range, and finishes. I picked up a beautiful metallic gold. I did 2 coats for the photos below.

Sally Hansen - Polar Purple

Good morning everyone!

Sally Hansen has released a rather new, unique line of polishes. It includes eight different colors, ranging from silver to green. I have only picked up one so far (shocker!), but plan on getting more. They retail for around ten dollars, depending where you buy them. I have the purple one. Magnetic polishes are really cool because it’s so simple to create a unique design.

Funky Fingers - Power Play

My first official post! J

This is more of a dark, almost jellyish purple than in the pictures, but gorgeous either way. In real life it isn’t as dark purple. Its just a crème finish as well, no shimmer or sparkles. I did 3 coats for the pictures below.

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! I am very excited to be starting my first ever blog, especially when it's about the one thing I love most! Nail polish! Well that, and other beauty related items. My main focus is to bring reviews about nail polish, new and old, collections, high end, and drugstore products with pictures too. I will occasionally, maybe a little more often, have makeup looks or just plain old makeup reviews. You can take this blog for what it is, and please enjoy it! I plan to put all my effort into it to make it as exciting and informational as possible! Thanks so much!
